Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Jimmy Hill has died aged 87.

A pioneer of the modern game arguably. Spawned playground phrases for years and was hated by the Jocks.

RIP THE CHIN

Held every main job in football too didn't he?

Panic not. Mark Lawrenson is morphing into him, albeit with a sprinkling of ADHD.

Largely responsible for scrapping the maximum wage for footballers as well

Did he come on as a ref in one game, when the original ref was injured?

A real character of the game. I liked him.

He was a revolutionary figure
3 Pts for a win & the end of the maximum wage ... down to him.

My Mum used to watch Fulham in the 50's and said when he got barracked by the fans once he dropped his shorts and showed them his ARSE. Beats cupping an ear.

RIP Jimmy.

Face of football in the 70s and 80s.

Annoying at times but was honest and a decent bloke or appeared to be?

Greatest chin you will ever see. Even Lionel Richie would doff his cap to Hill's chin.

I wonder if the coffin lid will have to have a 'chin extension' built into it?!

Bless him, a real polymath of the english game really.

Plus I thought he was already dead. Sorry.

Scored 5 goals for Fulham once, almost as good as our Geoff

Sad news - although he really fucking irritated me...

Completely forgot about him, actually...

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
I think he has had dementia or something similar for the last few years which is why he has been off the scene.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Changed the game.
Seemed like a passionate top bloke.
Will be forever remembered as already said as a playground slang!

RiP Jimmy
